So while reading my daily dose of news I came across this article.

I've never been to Korea and I can't say I've experience anything like this growing up. For those of you who've lived in Korea at some point does it seem like the Korean environment/ culture places too much emphasis on your appearance? Is it groomed into younger people that you must look a certain way or be a certain size to be "beautiful"?
Korea is number 1 in cosmetic surgeries per capita more than any other country in the world so I know that there is some sort of demand but is it that insane?
I know to some extent it happens everywhere but I'm hoping someone from Korea or who's been there can shed some more light on this for me. I'll be going Korea end of the year, maybe I'll experience it myself when I'm there.
